MA in Applied Linguistics, Fulbright scholar, over 15 years of experience including CELPE-Bras prep I have been teaching for over 15 years, in Brazil and abroad, and I have worked with people from all kinds of backgrounds — from absolute beginners to test takers and grammar aficionados. Together, my students and I have tackled a range of exciting challenges: from learning how to order food or behave in a "bloco de Carnaval" (did you know there's one in which they play the Pokémon theme songs?!) to writing classical poetry or reading Brazilian crime novels. I also specialize in preparing students for proficiency exams in both English (TOEFL, FCE, CAE, CPE) and Portuguese (CELPE-Bras). Whatever your goal is, I fully believe in your potential to thrive.

I know Portuguese is very often difficult, frustrating and even cruel. But you can learn it! Learning languages is a hobby of mine. Or just reading about languages and understanding the basic concepts of its grammar. As a language learner, it is a true pleasure helping learners of Portuguese, the only language I speak that didn’t take any effort to learn. I want to help others who share my love of languages learn Portuguese, either starting from scratch or to complement other study methods.

I also worked for the MimicMethod for a few years, where I was the Head of French Instruction and helped give specific pronunciation feedback to students. Later on, I also took lessons with a cinema accent coach and got acquainted with a more theatrical approach, which helped me be more versatile in my feedback. When I see one type of feedback doesn't work, I try another one. Each student reacts differently to different verbal cues, so I think it's important I can bring these different approaches to them, whenever needed :)

In 2015 I went to England, having the opportunity to bring many cultural experiences to my students who study English. In 2017 I started teaching on the internet, and in 2018 I moved to Russia, where I teach Portuguese to Russians and other people of other nationalities.
