1.) Beginner: All ages will learn the basics of English. This is a fun and easy course. All ages, Kids-Adult will learn. Each lesson is specifically adjusted to the speed of the student. Conversational English is a student-centered class designed around the individual needs and goals of the student. The student will take a diagnostic test before the first lesson. Students will receive intensive practice in Reading, Writing, Speaking, and Listening.

Conversational English

I will revise and edit your documents for spelling/grammar mistakes, sentence structure, punctuation and usage errors. I revise the documents using Google docs so you can see all of my changes. Informal lessons are conversation only on a topic of your choice. Corrections to speaking errors will be given but there will be no grammar tuition.  I will also edit and correct any writing the student may wish to share. I also provide medical vocabulary and editing.

Informal lessons

Enhance your vocabulary and grammar.  These lessons in reading, writing and speaking include idioms, more advanced phrasal verbs and how to use mixed conditionals for CAE preparation. I also provide medical vocabulary and editing.

Advanced

Improve your use of grammar. Learn collocations and phrasal verbs and lots more vocabulary. It's time to use the English you know in conversation, reading and writing. I also provide medical vocabulary and editing.

Intermediate

You have made a big jump from the Intermediate level. There is even more grammar and vocabulary at this level. You will be able to speak with much more confidence than before. Perhaps a little revision on what you learnt a while back.  This is a really challenging level that you will enjoy. I also provide medical vocabulary and editing.

Upper Intermediate

This was a year's secretarial course focusing on medical reception. Subjects included elementary medical knowledge, practical psychology and principles of sociology, medical vocabulary and consulting room practice.

In these conversation classes, you will get a chance to use your English to talk about a wide variety of topics. We can talk about current events, business, culture, technology, or whatever interests you. Additionally, I can teach you using articles and/or videos that will help you learn new vocabulary and phrases. I will also correct your grammar and pronunciation in a positive and friendly manner to ensure that your speaking abilities improve.

Speaking with Grammar, Pronunciation, and Vocabulary

The pre-intermediate and intermediate levels are the ones that I have seen students have the most difficulty passing through. I have successfully helped several students get through these difficult levels over the years. I teach English grammar classes using a structured program derived from various textbooks. The classes are focused on grammar topics that are then used in guided conversations.The targeted language points are taught by getting students to figure out how they work for themselves. I ask the students questions and guide them towards the correct answers. By forcing students to think for themselves they gain a better understanding of how the language works and are able to communicate more effectively in English. In these classes, you will learn verb tenses, collocations, prepositions, conditionals, gerunds, and much more to ensure that you can reach the more advanced levels.

English Grammar (Pre-intermediate and Intermediate)

These classes will help you learn idioms and expressions that are commonly used by native speakers by reading scripted conversations. You can focus on business, travel, celebrations, and daily situations. I will also help correct your pronunciation. These classes will help you understand and communicate better in real situations.

Read, Pronounce, Learn, Speak!

I will help you prepare for job interviews in theses lessons. We will start with common questions about your education, work experience , and skills. From there we will go into more behavioral based questions. I will teach you how to turn a negative into a positive and handle culturally difficult questions. I have extensive experience preparing students for job interviews in addition to interviewing potential employees in the role of manager and for organizations.

Job Interview Preparation

I have a specialization in teaching TOEFL preparation along with a bachelor's degree in Social Sciences. In my TOEFL preparation classes we can focus on any or all four (reading, listening, speaking, writing) of the skills you are tested on. Currently, my students have been getting above 100 on the test.
