Looking at our (own) beliefs or opinions as a third party is one way to cope with struggles or to see yourself under a better angle. I wouldn't say it makes you see your struggles objectively because I have tried it many times and even thought I have a more optimistic view of it, I still feel like I see these things from my own point of view.
