I prefer chipmunks 🐿 but we have many squirrels where I live.

In the United States, they were deliberately introduced in about the 1850s, as part of the movement to create pleasant public parks in cities. I think they're pretty cute, and they are MUCH less of a problem than rats. They don't normally get into houses unless the house is badly damaged. Sometimes they fall down chimneys and come out somewhere; a lot of chimneys have protective covers to prevent it. The biggest problem with squirrels is that they are constantly finding their way onto electric lines and getting themselves electrocuted--but causing a power interruption at the time.

Squirrels have that cute look that rats doesn't have also I enjoy watching them climb a tree .

Well, they are cute, but they can do a lot of damage to your vegetable garden. One also got into my apartment once, trying to steal some food... but, when it saw me, the poor thing jumped all over my prickly cactus plants in an attempt to make its way back out, as it couldn't find the place where it had entered! Auchhh! Poor little feet. I am sure it will think twice before entering my apartment again :)
