For Chinese, the winter solstice is not a very important festival,so most of them will go on do what they should do

It dpends. The Winter Solstice isn't that important, so if you can come home early and stay with your family, that would be better ,and if not ,it would be ok. But most of us will eat dumplings today, and this is a very important custom in this festival.
