Victory day! (9 May)

I was always interested how different countries attitude to this day. How it goes in different countries. Are there any parade? Or parade takes place only in Russia? And is it broadcast in your country?
Also I want to know your personal opinion about Victory day :)

As for me, I like this day most of all holidays, because I love Russian history and it's very important for me :)

There are no official celebrations in Germany, but in Berlin the Union of Persecutees of the Nazi Regime organizes a local festival near the Soviet War Memorial.

This year the 100 years anniversary of the breakout of the First World War 1914 is a special focus of commemoration in Germany.

It's referred to as VE (Victory in Europe) Day in the US, but it is not celebrated. I think immediately after the war there may have been yearly celebrations and ceremonies, but nowadays I think most people don't even know the significance of the date.
