I think the method you picked (watch videos on youtube) is one of the best. I'm using it myself to practice English a bit. I'm also trying to read a much as possible in this language. For example, I'm reading a couple of books right now to gain more vocabulary. Another good way to improve your skills would be to get a partner to practice. This helped me a lot to be more fluid when I talk and also to improve my listening skills
