I need to change myself for the good. I need to constantly try to improve myself. I cannot change the world but I can surely change myself. That might motivate others. If everyone tries to change oneself, the world would be a better place.

I love this saying:

Make yourself an honest person, then you will be sure that there is one rascal less in the world.

  I have no need to "change the world".

 I do have a need to change myself.  

  Oddly,   it does not seem to occur to people that they should change themselves.

They only think about changing everyone else and everything around them.
