I cannot answer to something I am not confident of. I thought my memorization is not bad but it helped my reading and listening disproportionate to the number of my vocabulary. So as a consequence, I decided to change my strategy to build my vocabulary afterwards. I catch words from my reading and listening as many as I can and check it again in my notebook with vocabulary and examples for those words accordingly. Be sure to Keep in mind the number of your vacaluary is not the keynote you are going for, instead, your commanding vocabulary to construct your English proficiency including listening, reading, speaking and writing is the end goal.
