A teacher who speaks more languages makes learning easier.
Do you know how many polyglot teachers (who speak 4 or more languages) there are in italki by the end of Mar 2022?

What a great question! It'd really be wonderful to find out, but my forte is teaching languages, not math and statistics, so I’ll just comment to follow the discussion :)
Thank you for posting.

"A teacher who speaks more languages makes learning easier"... really? Do you have any proof of this?
And to be clear I am not querying this from some personal prejudice towards polyglots. I too am learning three languages... well four if you include my native language (language learning never really stops does it). I'm more concerned that there isn't really any conclusive proof of this statement... unless there's been some research that I am not aware of... and that's why I ask you.
There's certainly quite a strong body of opinion (amongst teaching professionals) that you don't have to be an expert to teach, and in fact people often argue that being an expert can impede your ability to teach because you can't understand why others don't understand what seems obvious to you. I've certainly had some teachers like that!
So I think a polyglot teacher isn't necessarily going to make learning easier.
And then there's the thousands of excellent teachers on this platform who aren't polyglots... what are you implying about them?
