Everything about this question tells me that all you need to do is practice using "all' and "everything" in different types of sentences using the two words and getting feedback until the distinctions become clearer. regards

Usually "ALL" is used with other words. For example, "all I саn", "all I want", "all people" etc. "EVERYTHING" isn't used with other words. It is a pronoun. For example, "Everything was fine" (but NOT "All was fine").
