Why I need to speak English?

When I was teenager I had no opportunity to learn English because it was very expensive
and I had no idea that it would be so important for me (<em>seems redundant</em>) in the future.

Now I'm in the future and I need catch up, because my career improvements prospects also depends on that it ( <em>where 'it' is the act of catching up</em>).
