It’s more natural to say “ when I woke up”
We usually mean blue skies and sunshine when we refer to “beautiful weather “.
“I love weather like this “. “Thus ” is not really used in everyday conversation.

The weather today was beautiful since early morning. A lot of clouds covered the sky and the weather was rainy. I love this weather.
