Hi Lily, Well done and very good are about the same. Well done is just a little more formal so an adult might say it to a child. For example: Timmy, that is a job well done. or a little less formal: Timmy, you did a very good job. We also say: Good job: Good job Timmy. Well done can also be used to talk about how you like your steak cooked. For example: How do you want your steak? Rare, Medium Rare, Medium, Medium Well, or Well Done? Here Well Done just means completely cooked through, not red or pink inside.

The "Attaboy" Award "One thousand "ATTABOYS" qualifies you to be a leader among men, work overtime with a smile, explain all problems to Management with clarity, declaring that you can be held personally accountable if anything should go wrong, and be looked upon as a self-sacrificing and self-effacing Hero, all without a raise in pay or a little time off. But screw up one time and the entire company will be informed that everything was all your fault, and all of those "Attaboys" will all be forgotten, and you have to start all over again." ("Attaboy" = THAT---A---BOY!, as in "Very Good!" or "Well Done!" or a Pat---On---The---Back, for a job well done at work.)
