Hi, Yes, I agree with Barry that Gyeong-buk Palace (경복궁) is beautiful - if you want to see changing of the guard ceremony then Deoksugung (덕수궁) has ceremony at 11am, 2pm & 3pm every day apart from Monday - it lasts for around half an hour and is accross from City Hall! We also loved Changdeokgung (창덕궁) for the beautiful gardens, but don't go on a Thursday as it costs 15,000 won - with no guide! (normal price 3,000 won with a guide on other days!) It is in the Insa dong area of Seoul. Another thing you could do - if you have time before you go , is to have a look at this site www.seoul.go.kr It has lots of useful info and i ordered a free guide book (247pages all about Seoul!) - it was better than anything i could buy! - think they now have a pocket version which would be handy too! You can also see as E-book! Another site is http://www.visitkorea.or.kr/enu/GK/GK_EN_2_7_5.jsp You can order map and guide book about South Korea (again this is free you just sign up to site- which is brilliant for info too!)- this was the most useful for carrying around as it had where places were and how to get there - our book was well used during our stay! Hope this helps I am sure what ever you do - you will have a great time!

In Busan, I would recommend the following places: Busan (부산): Nam-po-dong (남포동): This is a big shopping / eating area with a fish market nearby. My friends really enjoyed the mil-myeon (밀면) - a kind of cold noodle dish. Tae-jong-dae (태정대): This is a beautiful area of Busan. It is basically an outcrop of land in the south of Busan. It has a beautiful park, wonderful views which you can view from the tram and even a lighthouse. Hae-un-dae (해운대): this is the most famous beach in Busan (and probably Korea) but it is a little over-rated in my opinion. There are a lot of restaurants, bars, motels in the area. There is also a nice aquarium located on the beach, which if you book in advance you can even go swimming with the sharks...I heard that there is a really nice spa located near the beach, with nice views, but I haven't been there yet. Beo-mil-dong (범인동): this is another nice shopping area with a LOT of bars and places to eat. Seems to be popular with teenagers and people in their twenties. On-cheon-jang (온천장): if you like relaxing in the spa then this neighbourhood has plenty to choose from.

In Seoul, I would recommend the following places: Seoul (서울): Gyeong-buk Palace (경복궁): A beautiful palace with a changing of the guard ceremony on the weekend. In-sa-dong (인사동): A traditional market area - where you can buy traditional things and sample a lot of different kinds of tea. Nam-dae-mun Market (남대문시장): This market, like Pamela said, has everything you need and everything that you don't. It can be a little overwhelming as it quite busy and spread out. Not sure if it open on Sundays though... Nam-san Tower (N서울타워): this has the best views of Seoul (better than the 63 building - in my opinion) but try and go there on a clear day. Also, go there just before dusk because you get to see Seoul in the daytime, twilight and nighttime (the night view is beautiful and the daytime view is mind boggling as you can see the sheer size of Seoul - it's HUGE!) Dong-dae-mun (동대문): this is a huge shopping district with 24 hour shopping available. It is quite large so make sure you set a lot of time aside for this. I agree with Pamela, at night the night market also opens in the old baseball stadium - well worth a visit. (APM is my personal favourite place to shop here). Myeong-dong (명동): this is a popular destination for tourists as iit has a mix of cheap, mid-priced and high-brand shops available. When you are in this neighbourhood, you HAVE to go to "Myeong-dong Gyo-ja (명동교자) for Kal-guk-su (칼국수) - it is amazing. I go there, like, once every 2-3 weeks. So good. I-tae-won (이태원): I recommend this place because it has the largest collection of (authentic) international restaurants in the city. It is very popular with the ex-pat residents but I would avoid buying anything in the shops here as they are often over-priced (however, do buy from the people with the stalls on the street).

Well - all i can say is you will have a fantastic time in Seoul - we did - try to go to at least one of the Palaces (preferably with a guide as then you will understand more about the buildings and layout) they are actually in the city so no special trip needed. The 63 Tower had fantastic views ower the city - we went at night it was stunning! Seoul Tower is also a place to go, although we never went up to top of tower (it was a cloudy day so not woth doing) but you still get a wonderfull view from base of tower as it is so high up (we went up by cable car) Nandaemun Market for everything you can think of (and things you never thought of!) is huge - but you can get a map - so you can't get lost. Dongdaemun Market we found was better at night asth place seemed to come alive then! Food is cheap to eat out, we also loved the food halls in dept stores - totally different to anything we had seen before! Travel wise i suggest you get a T Money card - you can top it up as you go, it gives you a slight discount on each journey. It really depends on what kind of things you like - if you want to know anything else just ask, however we never got down to Busan/Pusan (We did go to Gyeong-Ju that was lovely and is just north east of Pusan if you would like to know more about it- just let me know)- maybe next year as we are definately planning to go again!
