Question(please) Hi, there Could you help me? 1) Would you use "IT" in these sentences? Do you say "Yesterday it was one month since he got fired" or "Yesterday was one months since he got fired"?.... And "Today is/has been one year since I've been here" or "Today it is/has been one year since I've been here?" 2) On Twitter, a man said about a Spotify ranking: "If the songs' ranking is based on times played, it is a bit off." Why "The songs' ranking"? Shouldn't t be "The song ranking"? Please...

You can omit "it" from the sentence "Yesterday it was one month since he got fired" and also "Today it has been one year since I've been here", but they both sound correct and it doesn't make much of a difference. The tweet is correct if the person who tweeted it is talking about multiple songs, not just one song. Since the ranking of the songs belongs to the songs, then the apostrophe is correct, since it is possessive. I hope this helped!
