Are these all OK? (for a long trip by car etc.) It's snow heavily, so it's best not to hit the road. " " " " " to take the road. " " " " " to get on the road " " " " " to take off.

“It’s best not to take TO the road” would express this idea better. Without the “to,” “It’s best not to take the road” suggests that it is OK to go, but by a route other than the road. Example: “It’s best not to take the road because there are bandits there. Instead, it’s safer to take the path over the mountain.” Note: Use “snowed,” not “snow”: It’s snowED heavily.

They are all correct but some would sound more or less casual.
