Pistachio
The neighbourhood produces too much waste/rubbish per week. Is there a difference between the two words in this context? Which would be more likely to be used in the UK?

As a British speaker I would use 'rubbish' UNLESS I was also actually including sewage waste (from the toilets in houses) or even industrial waste if I am including businesses in the neighbourhood!
