면 할수록\도록\만큼 Could anyone please clarify the difference in meaning in these three following grammar parts? I'm confused when to use one over the other so if you could provide some examples that would be great. 죽을 만큼 사랑해요 연습 하면 할수록 실력이 늘 거예요 미치도록 너를 사랑했어요 They all sound similar to me, especially the first and the last sentence because they express something being done to some degree. The second sentence, I guess it also has to do with degree.

The second sentence is quite different from the first and the last sentence. 하면 할수록 the more I/you do,... 연습하면 할수록 실력이 늘 거예요. The more you do practice, the better you will be. When you want to say “the more A, the more B” in Korean, you can use the structure -(으)면 -(으)ㄹ수록. For the part “the more A,” in Korean, you repeat the same verb in the structure -(으)면 -(으)ㄹ수록, as in the example below. Formation 가다 “to go” 가 + 면 + 가 + ㄹ수록 = 가면 갈수록 “the more I go,…” 보다 “to see, to look at, to watch” 보 + 면 + 보 + ㄹ수록 = 보면 볼수록 “the more I see it,…” Example Sentences 1. 생각하면 생각할수록, 정말 부러워요. The more I think about it, the more jealous I feel. 2. 자주 보면 볼수록 친해질 거예요. The more you see each other, the closer you will get. 3. 들으면 들을수록 이 노래가 좋아질 거예요. The more you listen to it, the more you will like this song. 4. 쓰면 쓸수록 편해요. The more you use it, the more convenient it is. 5. 자주 오면 올수록 좋아요. The more often you come, the better. When using 도록, "the action stated in the preceding clause is the speaker's goal or reason for doing the action stated in the following clause. It's interchangeable with ~게." To me, it translates as "in a way that" or "such that". 음식이 모자라지 않도록 충분히 준비해라. Prepare enough food so that we don't run out. On the other hand, 만큼 "is used to indicate that the action or state described in the preceding clause is similar or equivalent to that stated in the following clause." To me, this is more "as much as". However, keep in mind that when translating both of these grammatical terms into English, there can be overlap. 돈을 많이 내는 만큼 좋은 서비스를 받을 수 있을 것이다. To the extent that you pay for it, you should receive good service. The clear difference between these two is that 만큼 highlights a degree or extent while ~도록 highlights a goal or objective. Both however describe how an action proceeds. 만큼 is used with adnominal suffix with tense like -은/-는/-을 만큼, but 도록 is only used with verb stem. Also, 만큼 can be used after a noun.
