Does It Make Sense? I had a trial lesson on another site some time ago, and a teacher kept asking me 'does it make sense?' any time after explaining me anything. I couldn't understand what he was asking about... After the lesson I realized that he meant 'is it clear?' or something like that. Is this a common way to ask people whether they understand what you are saying?

Yes. It's quite common. I believe your instructor was trying to be helpful. They probably wanted to make sure that you understood the material. I find myself asking that question frequently as well. I hope that I am not confusing my students!

Yes. "Does it/that make sense?" is a common way to ask if it is understood or if it is clear.
