How can I improve and practice my writing skills? Hello everyone! Anyone knows how to do that? Because when I looked at it like, " ok, let's see some topics to write about lt. ohh, there is one: write about technology, there is another: write about relationships, friendship,travelling,...etc.". The problem is i'm out of ideas, write couple of lines and that's what I have, can't think of anything else to add. So, should I read first about the topic and then try to write on my own? Or that could be considered cheating somehow, because that might end writing what I have just read; or should I try to write first and then read some articles to generate some new ideas and back to rewrite again? I'd like to hear some of your techniques, i'm open for suggestions. Please, don't leave before dropping one! Thank you all.

I get your struggle with finding ideas and expanding your writing. It's common to get stuck after a few lines, especially when brainstorming topics like technology, relationships, or travel. The key is to balance your reading and writing, which is a great way to generate new ideas without "cheating." Reading helps you gain different perspectives and insights, and then you can use those ideas to build on your thoughts when writing. It’s all about using what you read to inspire your creativity while still keeping your writing original. You could also start writing freely without worrying too much about structure or depth initially, then go back to revise and expand later after gathering more ideas through reading or brainstorming. Additionally, if you're looking for some extra help with your writing, you might want to check out this list of AI essay writer tools: https://www.reddit.com/r/WritingWithAI/comments/1g3ek3f/best_ai_essay_maker/. You’ll improve with time and persistence.

I completely understand your problem. I had to face it during my studies. At the first stage I was helped by https://www.personalstatementwriter.org/best-computer-science-personal-statement-examples/ where they wrote a personal statement for me. And thanks to the examples I understood how to write on my own.

That sounds great actually, I'll try to do that. But mainly like you said also, the ones that I can meet in an ielts exam 😁. Cause when they say: write about this or that, I may not have enough ideas to write; it's not like writing about my day. My question is how can deal with. Should I read about the topic first then try to write or what? 😅 And also I'll take a look at an ielts writing book. Thanks Trish!

My students are currently doing a 30 day journal challenge. They just write about their day, how they feel or anything that was of interest that day. I asked them what they thought about this challenge, they said it was fun and didn’t feel like a chore (apparently assignments feel like chores 😂😂). You would try it! Get someone to ready it and check for any errors. Alternatively get an ielts writing book. It would have lots of topics, the best part about these is that they often have guidelines and new vocabularies that you can use.
