I have had the pleasure of working with Teacher Victoria for over 9 months. Around the start of my Tagalog journey, I happened to stumble upon her amazing intro video. Right away I knew from the way she expressed herself through her energy, creativity, and passion for teaching Tagalog that it was an absolute must for me to see if she was a fit. After completing our first lesson, there was no question at all on who I wanted to invest my time and energy with. Over the course of my time with Victoria, she has taught me so much about Tagalog and Filipino culture. Whether it be analyzing trendy songs, watching YT videos, listening to her podcasts, or just having fun light-hearted chats I have gained so much knowledge and insight that I cannot thank her enough for all she has given me. Teacher Victoria I believe is one of the best teachers on italki and I highly recommend her if you would like to learn from someone who is so kind, supportive, dedicated, and an absolute joy to work with.

Vicky is honestly my favorite language teacher I’ve ever had 🧡 I can definitely feel how much effort she puts into our classes and she is very present while I share stories. I also appreciate how many examples she gives me for new grammar/vocab so that I fully understand. In the short amount of time I’ve been taking classes with Vicky, I’ve already noticed so much progress in my Tagalog! ✨

A consistent and dedicated teacher. Explains everything clearly and with an infectious passion for the language, evidenced by teaching method, degree in the relevant subject matter, and deep academic knowledge of the nuances of the language. This makes all the difference— I look forward to my Tagalog classes. Highly recommend for those seeking a more structured but enjoyable approach to learning Tagalog. Maraming salamat, Vicky!!

Victoria is a fantastic teacher! We've had a few lessons so far and I've really enjoyed them. She does a great job of mixing more free flowing conversation with structured speaking activities. She also strikes a great balance between giving me time to speak and then either giving grammatical corrections or letting me know how I can rephrase things to sound more conversational/natural and less formal/stiff. I would highly recommend her for conversation practice and also just general Tagalog learning! Maraming salamat, Victoria!

Victoria was so sweet and patient as she guided me to understanding the basics of filipino tagalog on our first lesson. She would present and explain, then allow me to practice and coach me very enthusiastically. I'm so excited to learn more from her.
