Hello! My name is Tia and I'm a qualified TEFL teacher from South Africa. I am currently studying for a Bachelor of Education in teaching English. I am a native English speaker who enjoys learning other languages such as Spanish, Portuguese and Afrikaans. I am experienced in tutoring both conversational and general English and have tutored Biology. In South Africa we study British English in school and I have lived and worked in America so I have a range of knowledge between the two variants. I'm a friendly and open-minded tutor who will cater to your English goals. I enjoy talking about most topics and will go the extra mile to find out more about a topic or grammar point for you. My lessons are student-centered, communicative, full of materials, and include lots of constructive feedback. During our 'Conversation Practice' lessons, we will discuss your favorite topics while practicing pronunciation, fluency, and building your confidence. However, during our 'General English' lessons we will focus on developing your skills (reading, writing, listening) and practicing your sub-skills (pronunciation, spelling, grammar). I mainly work with intermediate and advanced English students, but I can cater to beginner (A2) students as well. Please note, I do not teach children younger than 13.สื่อการสอนของฉัน

Teaching experience
2021 - 2022
English TutorI followed a set teaching curriculum based on that student's needs and taught general English lessons to students multiple times a week as a volunteer job for underprivileged women in the Middle East. I also prepared them for tests and corrected any homework tasks.

Biology TutorI taught a girl Biology in my city twice a week for a year. I prepared each lesson and material, taught the lesson, prepared her for tests and corrected any homework assignments I gave her.

Camp CounselorI looked after children in an American summer camp from the 28th of May 2024 to the 3rd of August 2024. I was both a rock climbing instructor and a counselor for children ages 6 - 17 years old. I have looked after children from the U.S, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Canada and France. I have also worked with many colleagues from Poland, the UK and Columbia. This experience has helped me better communicate with others of different nationalities and given me confidence working with children.

Tia is both, a wonderful talker and an attentive listener. On top of that, she is a smart, highly-eloquent and bold young woman who is ready to pursue her dreams. I'm pretty sure that she will be successful at everything she wants strongly enough. There is an awfull lot that one can be inspired by when in her presence. The best word that pops up in my head that describes her personality is authentic.

As always, 60 minutes flew by very quickly, super interesting and informative conversation. Thanks to Tia for being able to build a meaningful conversation on various topics and for being able to fully concentrate on the student and their needs when learning the language.
