Sarah

Sarah is a great, reliable teacher. I like taking French lessons with her because she's an effective conversationalist and she asks questions that challenge me to improve my knowledge of the French language. Sarah is skilled at leading the conversation, but she's also a good listener. I enjoy lessons with Sarah because while she's friendly and kind, she doesn't waste any time, isn't late, and she's never gone over the alloted 30 minutes that I've scheduled. This provides me with a lot of predictability because I have a busy schedule.

I found Sarah because she corrected one of my writing samples in the community area and I liked her corrections so much that I now regularly engage Sarah to correct my writing. You might think that simply doing grammatical corrections is an objective practice that will be the same regardless of who does the correction. On the contrary! There are editors who can comprehend your style, and correct accordingly. She is able to read between the lines and understand exactly what I'm wishing to communicate and manages to correct my writing in a smooth, natural-sounding French construction such that it reads and sounds exactly as I would have wished it to, had I produced it. I study her corrections - I read them both in track changes form and then in the "finished/corrected form" and then record myself reading them aloud. My hope is to practice enough to be able to write this way of my own accord. I highly recommend Sarah because she really spends the time to provide high-value corrections.

Sarah is one of the best teachers I’ve encounter on italki. I saw other students’ comments saying it is very comfortable to speak French with her, and it is very true. She is very good at asking questions according to what I said, and turn the conversation into a chat between friends. In the same time, she pays attention to what I say and correct my errors, which is very important for me. I’m looking forward to a next class with her.
