Hi! I'm Richard, an English tutor and language learning enthusiast from Auckland, New Zealand.
Fluent in Spanish and exploring French, Japanese, and Mandarin, I bring diverse linguistic skills to my work as an Italki tutor.
I'm also a Yoga Teacher and Therapist, specialising in elderly care through group and private sessions.
Outside work, I enjoy nature, travel, photography, and music. I play guitar and sing when I can. My varied interests enrich my teaching approach and life experiences.

My English teaching journey began in 2008 with Colombian refugees in New Zealand, sparking my passion for languages and education. This led me to help migrants achieve English fluency and confidence.
As an educator, I create a supportive environment where students feel at ease making mistakes, but gently offering corrections when required. My approach emphasizes patience and personalization. I discover each student's interests, encouraging them to express themselves freely on topics they love. I love genuine conversation and connection with my students.

My teaching style is based on a conversational approach. I structure lessons around as much conversation as possible. I encourage students to relax and communicate without fear of mistakes, grammar rules, or accent concerns.
While I can set homework for reading, listening, and grammar study, our iTalki sessions focus on practicing conversation as much as possible. This method works well, and I'm passionate about sharing it with my students.
As a specialty I also offer help with job interview preparation and practice as well as Resume/CV revision and assistance. I've had great success getting my students into their dream jobs.สื่อการสอนของฉัน

I really liked how the class flowed. The feeling I had during the session was more like having a good chat with a friend, with interesting topics and the opportunity to talk, plus you feel comfortable because Richard is very patient and attentive. I will definitely book more classes with him 👍🏻

I’ve had a wonderful class with Richard. I felt 100% comfortable and relaxed, and that helped me practice my speech (which is my main goal) in a very productive way.
