My name is Mikhail, but my friends call me Mike. I've been studying linguistics and foreign languages for many years, and I've been using the Italki platform for about four years now. I'm a native Russian speaker, born and raised in Orel—a city not far from Moscow, near Belgorod.
Currently, my wife and I live in the beautiful city of Saint Petersburg, where we enjoy nature, ride our bicycles, and work remotely as freelancers. My teaching style is mainly communicative. Being in a student's shoes, I can say that it is the best strategy to learn a foreign language—through communicative scenarios, role-plays, and gamification! I truly believe that even adult students can enthusiastically engage in language-based games that help improve memorization of studied vocabulary.

2019 - 2020
English TeacherI provided communication classes to Japanese students, helping them become familiar with Russian culture and people. My main goal was to create a welcoming speaking atmosphere where they could open up and overcome their speaking barriers.

English & Russian TeacherI worked at a Russian private center where we prepared students for international English exams. I mainly taught in-depth grammar, focusing on the English language. At this center, I conducted both group and one-on-one classes with students ranging from 6 to 40 years old.
