George is highly cultured, patient, and adaptable. Every lesson is clear, inspiring, and perfectly tailored to my level, helping me speak Greek naturally and confidently. I highly recommend him to anyone who wants to learn Greek with both joy and dedication!

I really enjoy my lessons with George. He is patient and friendly and always comes to our lessons well prepared with a variety of different materials. George has been able to explain some challenging texts in such a way that I am able to understand. I would particularly recommend George to anyone wishing to work on their pronunciation - he excels at that - something which not all teachers appear comfortable doing. George also speaks English fluently, something which I believe is useful, especially for students who are at the start of their Greek language-learning journey. Overall, a really great teacher!

He’s an intellectual with a deep understanding of Greek culture, making him a great partner for deep, nuanced conversations. He really helped me work on the natural rhythm of my speech and made me feel at ease, even when I'm shaking off some rust. Highly recommended if you want to move beyond textbook Greek.

I have been taking lessons with George twice a week for the last two years. I am extremely pleased with the progress that I have made. George consistently removes hurdles that get in the way of my learning. His solid command of English grammar and knowledge of Greek (both modern and ancient) help me every time we talk. He is always on time, always patient and clearly cares about my learning. I first became interested in learning modern Greek after feeling frustrated with my efforts to learn ancient Greek. The Greek language relies so much on spoken aspects, and to really understand the Greek verb system I believe that you simply must speak it. I communicated my goals to George right away, and we have gradually worked to develop a customized lesson plan that involves speaking, reading and writing in every lesson (it is an action packed hour!). I highly recommend his lessons to anyone interested in cultivating a deep understanding of Greek Language, history and culture.
