Hello! I’m Abe, a TEFL-certified English tutor with over four years of experience. I specialize in conversational fluency, interview preparation, and immersive learning to boost engagement. I also have experience in the corporate world and project management, helping students develop daily and professional English for real workplace situations. Having lived in Saudi Arabia and the Philippines, I bring a multicultural perspective. I’m a native speaker of English and Tagalog, focused on practical communication. I assess each student through conversation and tailor lessons to improve pronunciation, confidence, and real-world speaking.
I used to teach English at my university, where I worked with foreign exchange students and also had language exchange partners. After that, I decided to pursue my passion for teaching. Along the way, I realized that teaching is a two-way street—you learn just as much from your students as they do from you. I find it incredibly fulfilling to watch my students succeed through their own efforts. I also take great pleasure in breaking down complex ideas in a way that makes them easier to understand. It’s something I truly enjoy.
I like to take things slow at the beginning to assess the student’s level and identify any areas of difficulty through basic conversation. From there, I address the initial concerns and tailor the tutoring to fit the student’s specific needs. My goal for learning English was simple. I just wanted to communicate clearly at work. I used to get stuck all the time and thought I wasn’t good at English. But after learning with Teacher Abe, I realized it wasn’t about ability; it was about the pressure I put on myself.
His lessons are always calm, supportive, and focused on real communication. He helps me express myself more naturally and corrects me in a way that makes me feel comfortable and confident.
In his class, I feel relaxed and supported. He creates such a safe space that I started to speak more and more naturally. It’s really changed how I feel about speaking English.
I really want to thank Teacher Abe for always being patient and encouraging. If anyone feels the same way I used to, always nervous and doubting yourself, I truly recommend taking his class. You might discover, like I did, that you’re actually better than you think.
