Sorcha

Sorcha is a friendly , knowledgeable and encouraging teacher. As an adult learner , one of my biggest issues is with actually speaking the Irish that I do have . Sorcha politely prompts me to go back to Gaeilge when I slip back into using English. When I make mistakes , Sorcha will gently inform me of the correct structure that I should have used , without making me feel like a fool. It’s a skill that not all teachers have and along with simple , constructive lesson plans and some homework , makes Sorcha a great choice no matter what level your Irish is at. I’d recommend Sorcha as a teacher and I’m sure she’ll help you with your language journey , on top of that you’ll have met a genuinely nice person , it’s a win win really !

It is always a pleasure to work with Sorcha as she clearly understands her subject extremely well and brings an enthusiasm for her language into every lesson. The lessons are always sufficiently challenging and her feedback is always extremely helpful.

Always an absolute pleasure even when, like today, I am less than at my best. Sorcha's style suits me perfectly and she is highly adept in steering the conversation to obtain the best results.

This was the first one-hour conversation that I have had with Sorcha and the time passed incredibly quickly. These conversations are always mixed appropriately so that both spoken and listening skills are improved, almost without noticing. A major plus for me is that the conversation are real in the sense that nothing is pre-planned so they develop naturally and cover very diverse subjects. I always leave the conversations knowing that I have improved my skill and with a clear idea of those areas that I need to work on.

Great weekly conversation practice with Sarah, as always! These practices really help to improve my Irish, and the conversations are always fun and interesting.

This was another excellent lesson/conversation with Sorcha, who is a very capable teacher and guide to this beautiful language. What I especially like is that our conversations are unplanned and often go off into tangents unexpectedly. I love her curiosity and sense of fun but do notice that she cleverly steers the conversations to get the most from them. I always come away with the clear belief that I have progressed in my learning. Go raibh mile maith agat, a Shorcha!
