Kevin

After months now of conversational classes with Kevin, I continue to enjoy our lessons and grow from them. I continue to enjoy the improvisational nature of our chats, which unfold like the real conversations I have with people here in France except that I do the majority of the talking. He's happy to let me lead the conversation in any direction I want, but he'll also take the lead and ask me thoughtful, probing questions. I appreciate that he is actually listening. Kevin is great at gentle correction. It's consistent but subtle enough to avoid disrupting the flow of our conversation. I've had other teachers correct me too much, and others correct me too little; Kevin finds a great balance between the two. We'll stop when needed and talk about a piece of vocabulary or a point of grammar. I've had ten or so teachers on my French language journey, both in person and online. For conversational practice, Kevin has been one of the best fits for me. I recommend giving him a try.

I was soooooo lucky to meet Kevin on italki. I have been with him since July and quite impressed by his teaching style, including inspiring ideas to start every class, well organized lesson structure, well prepared learning materials and of course his magic Google Drive folder! As a language learner, I really love his "push way" during every class because this can hep me to think on my own and I believe I will improve faster with this style. I will keep on my learning journery with Kevin in the future and also hope one day I could visit him in person,haha!

I've been taking classes with Kevin for a few weeks now and have really been enjoying our time together. Our conversations are largely organic, which makes them feel like an authentic chat rather than a structured talk. It's very much like the conversations I would have in my daily life. What I really love is the format: Kevin has a document up on the screen and helps to correct me in real time. This approach is effective without being intrusive; it's a great way to gently fix my errors without disrupting the flow of the conversation. Best of all, Kevin is very patient as I slowly fumble my way through recalling vocabulary and structuring sentences. I never feel rushed or anxious, which gives me the space to think through what I want to say. It's great practice for real life.
