I was born & brought up in the countryside of Hertfordshire, England, spellbound by the great outdoors. After spending a number of years living in Hong Kong, Kunming & Bangkok, I eventually settled down with my wife amidst the highlands of Lanna, Northern Thailand where we raise our two young children whom my time is devoted to when not teaching. When I can, I love nothing better than to embark on new explorations of the mountain forests, photographing & documenting local fauna & wildlife. I also keep fit with Daoist exercises & gardening, enjoy loose leaf teas, cook with beans, study Chinese etymology, embark on home DIY projects & catch up on tech & world current affairs.ฉันในฐานะผู้สอน
Having taught in Asian schools since 2003, I switched to italki in 2014 because it facilitates a greater opportunity for STUDENT CENTERED-LEARNING via one-to-one private lessons whilst reaching a broader diversity of students offering greater flexibility. Ten years later & I've taught approximately 1000 students here. Providing BESPOKE LESSONS, I will ask you: What are your personal goals? What are your individual needs? What are your various interests?
My philosophy as a teacher is to:
GUIDE the student fueled with inspiration.
ASSIST the student when they hit roadblocks.
INSPIRE the student when they feel lost.
Guide, assist and inspire – that’s what I do.

My lessons come in 3 categories – UNIVERSITY STUDENTS/ KIDS/ ADULTS. Most STUDENTS are looking for help in preparation for Academic IELTS to study abroad. I also help children & adults prepare for the CAMBRIDGE EXAMS. Other exams are fine eg. iGCSE, TOEFL.
For KIDS’ classes, alongside conversation (& song for the youngest) I emphasize PHONICS using Oxford Reading Tree Songbirds. Stronger readers can explore reading material that matches their abilities to their interests.
Most ADULTS are looking for basic conversation classes which can incorporate reading, pictures or other material for discussion. Adult classes also includes FORMAL BUSINESS ENGLISH such as interview and presentation prep.สื่อการสอนของฉัน

Charles is an excellent and experienced teacher. The atmosphere in the classroom is very relaxed. He will guide the child to express themselves in English. Correcting a child's spoken errors. When my daughter doesn't understand, he slows down his speech and sometimes translates from Chinese. It's truly impressive that he is able to speak Chinese fluently. My daughter absolutely loves his classes, and even my son, who was eavesdropping for just a minute, said that he really likes this teacher.

Teacher Charles is excellent! My child has already completed 5 lessons with him. He speaks at a perfect pace for kids and is very patient. He also flexibly adjusts lessons when unexpected matters arise. Every lesson includes writing assignments followed by his corrections. We hope this will lead to significant progress in my child’s English.
