Mamiko-sensei is a highly effective professional teacher. She is flexible and very knowledgeable in English, which really helps in gradually becoming confident in speaking Japanese. I haven't studied Japanese intensely since years ago when I was in University classes. In the past, I had trouble keeping up with the language through self-study or casual italki lessons. Mamiko Sensei is extremely skilled at adjusting the lesson material to fit whatever level, or mix of levels, your Japanese language skill is at. That sort of ability can be very difficult to find in a teacher and I feel usually only comes from years of experience in teaching that area. It's very easy for me to tell that she's an extremely skilled and experienced instructor - one that I feel very fortunate to be able to learn from. The quality of the lessons with Mamiko Sensei are always very high, and an absolute joy that I look forward to each week.
