Hi, there! Please call me Yukko/유코!
I work as an English tutor, helping students improve their skills and build study habits. It’s so rewarding to see my students grow!
📝About Me
I majored in English and spent a year in Canada and four months in Korea. After graduating, I worked for an airline, as a barista, and at a lodge. These experiences let me meet amazing people and learn about different cultures.🙏
🌟My Hobbies
I enjoy traveling, walking, yoga, and watching TV shows. Recently, I’ve been enjoying Japanese comedy (Owarai) and stand-up comedy on YouTube. It’s so fun!
I’m also learning English and Korean on my own and through online lessons.

Learning a language takes time, but I want to make the journey as fun and enjoyable as possible for you!😊
First, I’d love to hear about you! What are you interested in? Why do you want to learn Japanese? How have you been studying so far? I want to tailor our lessons to your “fun” and “favorite” things to make learning more enjoyable.
I naturally speak slowly, even in Japanese. 🤭
It’s okay if you take your time to find the right words, or even make mistakes! (I sometimes misread kanji too! 😂) My goal is to create a relaxed, fun atmosphere where you feel comfortable. 🌿

Honestly, Tuesdays are kind of rough work days because there's always meetings, but I am always excited to come home after work for Japanese lessons! Yukko-san continues to be super kind and patient and teach me applicable vocabulary for the way I express myself, which is wonderful and definitely something that I wouldn't get from trying to self-study, even with a textbook!!

Yay! I'm leaving for Japan in a couple of weeks and am very grateful that Yukko-san was patient as always in explaining small courtesy/cultural things so I don't totally stick my foot in my mouth while traveling. I always look forward to our lessons and appreciate her ongoing patience and dedication to teaching!!

Great lesson as always! It is nice to be back in the groove of things. I was a bit under the weather this week and (once again) debated cancelling, but knew that my day would be better after a lesson with Yukko-san, and I was right!! Thank you so much as always!!

Bless Yukko-san, seriously. She has been so super helpful in making sure I have the means to get through Japan on my trip, not only linguistically, but culturally, as well. She has been super supportive throughout the past few months, and has honestly convinced me to continue learning Japanese after I return just so I can continue to take lessons from her!! I had to skip last week's lesson with Yukko-san due to some work conflicts and honestly was really sad about it!! I'm glad to be back on track! Yukko-san is super sweet and answers all of my inane questions about Japanese, from language to culture, which I super appreciate, especially her level of patience and care in answering all of my questions. Thank you!!
