Hi! I’m Mai😊 I’m a Japanese tutor with 6+ years of experience—and a drummer!🥁 I’ve been a big fan of British rock, especially The Beatles, since I was a kid. (I even visited Liverpool during study abroad!) I love Ringo Starr and started drumming in high school. Now I keep my passion alive by jamming with friends and playing Beatles tunes! If you’re a Beatles fan, I also have lessons that use example sentences about the members. (I design materials with publicity rights in mind—so while I may not share illustrated slides, I’ll provide lesson notes and grammar points.) And even if you’re not into music, let’s enjoy chatting in Japanese—especially if you love cute things like I do!

Mai sensei is an excellent teacher! I have had a couple tutoring sessions with her and I’ve gotten much more confident in my speaking and listening ability! It was great fun chatting about music with Mai-sensei. Really helpful too, and I loved hearing about her performances. What’s more, she has an excellent knowledge of grammar and gives plenty of explanations in English.

Because Mai-sensei is such a big Beatles fan, it was a lot of fun to try talking about Beatles stories in Japanese! Plus, she has a lot of experience performing, which makes the lessons even more fun!

Her lessons are super creative and fun. The best part is that I can join without feeling stressed. I usually get nervous, but she supports me in English, so I can relax. At the same time, she gives me lots of chances to practice speaking Japanese. Her original materials are super easy to understand.
