Hi, I’m Taka! Born and raised in Japan, I have 26 years of work experience in the Japanese media industry and hold a bachelor’s and master’s degree in mechanical engineering.
I help students master not just the language but also its cultural and business contexts. Whether you’re learning daily conversation or business Japanese, I tailor lessons to your goals!
I’ve traveled to over 30 countries - China, the U.S., Australia, England, Vietnam, France, Spain - the list goes on forever! This experience helps me connect with students from diverse backgrounds and understand the challenges of learning a new language :)

I offer five types of lessons tailored to your needs. Most lessons include personalized correction notes and advice to help you sound more like a native Japanese.

How I Teach
- You will speak more than me while I listen and take notes - creating your own sentences is key to mastering Japanese ^ ^
- I will primarily use Japanese in class but can use English when necessary.
- My lessons are for learners 18 years and older.
- I provide guidance on the most efficient ways to learn Japanese, based on my own experience learning English online through self-study since 2016 (CEFR C1, Eiken Grade 1).

I truly recommend Taka-sensei as a language teacher. He is patient, kind, and has a great way of explaining things so that they are easy to understand. During our lessons, he listens carefully and helps me improve step by step, from pronunciation to choosing more natural expressions in both casual and business situations. He always gives thoughtful feedback and useful notes after class, which makes it much easier for me to review and practice on my own. Thanks to his supportive and encouraging style, every lesson feels comfortable, motivating, and enjoyable.
