I feel very lucky to have found Mwalimu Grace to help guide me through my Swahili learning journey and exposing me to Swahili spoken in Kenya. She is always very patient, professional and helpful and encourages me to speak even if I make loads of mistakes. She is there to correct me, explain new vocabulary or help me find a better or more appropriate word depending on the context. She knows how to make her students feel comfortable. Had a great lesson today with Mwalimu Grace. We read an article about concerns with using Bluetooth headphones and listening at high volume. Mwalimu Grace is great at explaining things I don't understand and covering nuances that I wouldn't get on my own. Reading articles invariably leads to side discussions, which promote further learning. These lessons are very beneficial to my learning.

Another wonderful class with Mwalimu Grace. She always come to class very prepared and is kind, encouraging, very professional and patient. She makes her students feel very comfortable and welcome. I am also very grateful for the fact that she teaches me in Swahili so that I can better familiarize myself with spoken Swahili and work on my listening skills, which are still weak. Had a great lesson with Mwalimu Grace today. She had the idea to listen to a podcast on global warming and then discuss what we heard. I listened to it before class to get the gist. During class we listened piece by piece and discussed along the way. It was a great learning format. Such a great idea. It is obvious that she takes her classes and student learning seriously.

Had a great lesson with Mwalimu Grace today. We discussed a recent trip I took then finished off reading a BBC Swahili article about entrepreneurs helping disabled people. Mwalimu Grace helped me understand the difficult words and phrasing used in the article. We made a plan for our next lesson as well. Looking forward to it!

Another 5-star class with Mwalimu Grace! I loved it. Today we read a story in Swahili and discussed it afterwards in Swahili. This helped me apply what I have learned and allowed me to practice noun class agreement and use verbs that I don’t usually use.
