I had another fantastic lesson with Yvan. He is, simply put, an excellent language teacher. He is knowledgeable about the TCF exam. If you want a deep understanding of what happens during the test, what to expect, and an accurate gauge of your current level, he is the perfect resource. For beginners, he is a game-changer. While many teachers use French exclusively (leaving students lost in translation), Yvan is different. He speaks with great clarity and switches to English when you need it for greater understanding. If you're starting at absolute zero, he is the guy for you. He's great at identifying your strengths and weaknesses and encourages you to speak, which is key to mastering the language. You get a huge amount of value from just an hour. Even better, your lesson doesn't end when the call does! He sends useful follow-up materials, like TCF sample tests, to ensure your learning and French sharpening continue.

Yvan really knows the TCF and has lots of useful tips for preparation, as well as an understanding of what examiners are looking for at each level. His encouragement gave me confidence in my own abilities and made practice a lot more enjoyable than it had been previously, and he structured lessons to maximize preparation for the sections of the exam I was most nervous about. I'm very grateful to have found him, and strongly recommend that anyone who plans to sit for the TCF book some lessons with him!
