Experienced Greek tutor for English speaking adults Hello! I’m thrilled to introduce myself as an experienced teacher and tutor of the Greek language, dedicated to helping students of all levels unlock the beauty and complexity of this ancient tongue. My name is Stratos, and I am a native Greek from Thessaloniki. I hold a BA in English Linguistics and Literature, and I have many years of experience tutoring English to Greek speakers and Greek to English speakers. In addition, my background and experience in IT, especially e-learning systems, have helped me create and customize interactive content for students of all levels. I have a keen interest in bridging cultural and linguistic gaps between Greek and English, seamlessly. No two learners are the same and my experience allows me to tailor my approach to meet the unique needs of each student. I believe good teaching is like good parenting. I strive to provide the students with all the necessary linguistic and cognitive tools to enable them to become independent in their study, saving them from the harsh reality of wasting time reinventing the wheel. In my teaching practice, I try to incorporate all the latest and most modern approaches to learning, such as spaced repetition, active recall and task-based learning, emphasizing learners' active construction of knowledge through meaningful tasks and interactions. Stratos is an excellent teacher, smart, easy to talk to, and properly tuned in to what you need. His English is flawless, so nothing ever gets lost in translation. He’s great at explaining the why behind the language, and he brings in bits of culture and history that make it all stick. Lessons are relaxed, good-humoured, and genuinely interesting.
