I had a trial lesson with Emika. She is very proactive and messaged me beforehand the lesson about where I am at with my Japanese studies and what resources I use to study. She is very organised and has a structured lesson plan with slides where she helped me improve my pronounciation and introduced adjectives. Highly reccommend booking in with Emika!

Emika-san is really patient and kind, and it is a pleasure to be her student! Her lessons are engaging and super helpful for practicing grammar and sentence structures. I feel comfortable speaking Japanese with her even when I make mistakes because I know Emika-san will give me feedback and encouragement.

I've been taking lessons with Emika-sensei for a while now, and I have to say she is one of the best teachers on iTalki! She's excellent at the key things that make a teacher good: speaking slowly and clearly, explaining things in an understandable way, facilitating the conversation, and providing feedback on the most natural ways to say things. But more than that, I just find our conversations to be really FUN! That makes me look forward to our lessons, and it never feels like "work". She's just a really genuine person and takes an interest in our conversations. I've been improving so much and I'd highly recommend Emika-sensei to anyone who is serious about, or just wants to have fun, learning!

Emika-sensei is a wonderful teacher! She is always on time, friendly and respectful. Her lessons are well prepared using textbooks, her own slides, audio and video material. I have learned hiragana and katakana thanks to her lessons and am advancing in grammar and speech. She takes time each lesson to revise and match the student's pace of learning. I highly recommend Emika-sensei!!
