I have been teaching happily for the past 20 years in government, international schools and online here on Italki. My ultimate goal is for you to reach your full potential as a language learner and for you to leave each class with a satisfied 🌃 afterglow. Once we brainstorm an enjoyable study plan and routine, my students will progress towards their goals with confidence and an understanding of the subtle nuances of the language. Mrs Malay is warm, supportive and energising – I think any student with her as a teacher will go a long way just from the sheer motivation she provides. She knows her stuff as well, eg the cross-cultural etymology of Malay words. She clearly has a vast quantity of material (which she hand makes herself as well). It was really fun speaking with her about the Malay already present in Singlish, and learning new Malay words from her.
