Hello guys! My name is Shini, your Korean teacher ˋˏ❤︎ˎˊ
I am a native Korean speaker, born and raised in Seoul, South Korea.
I am a language enthusiast with interests in linguistics, psychology, neuroscience, and space 🌌. I especially love talking about languages, and I am fluent in English and Russian.
I also love traveling and meeting people from around the world, which sparked my interest in teaching Korean to friends abroad. That’s how I started my tutoring journey 🙂

I personally know how challenging it can be to learn a foreign language. Because of my own experience, I can easily understand and relate to the difficulties learners face. I want my students to see our class as a fun and enjoyable time, not a burden 😉. For the record, I’m not a fan of studying myself! 😄
Language learning, unlike other academic subjects, doesn’t require strict discipline or endless hours of study. In my class, we can relax, have fun, and enjoy the process together. Shini is the best Korean language teacher on italki! She presented a clear plan at the beginning of the course and arranged a personal schedule for me. During the class, she was extremely patient, kind, and friendly. Even when I made simple mistakes, she comforted me genuinely. I believe she is quite experienced and prepared in her field, and she knew exactly how to approach a beginner like me. I enjoyed learning how to pronounce letters that seemed difficult at first, but I succeeded after following her helpful tips. I am eager to take the following courses!
