Hi, I'm Koji! I specialize in helping complete beginners learn practical, real-world Japanese that you can actually use while traveling. My unique, streamlined method is designed specifically for English speakers and focuses on communication, not perfection. You don’t need to pass a JLPT exam or master complex grammar to enjoy Japan safely and comfortably. With more than ten years of teaching and coaching experience, I’ve guided learners of all ages and levels to speak confidently and naturally. I began by teaching Japanese speaking courses at the college level in the U.S., helping students move beyond textbooks and into authentic conversation. Since 2018, I’ve worked as an English coach at a private language school in Japan, where I developed deep insight into the psychology and practical needs of second language learners—especially Japanese speakers. Along the way, I created my own language learning method—based on personal experience learning English, Korean, Spanish, and Mandarin.
