I always enjoy my lessons with Nana 先生, and today’s lesson was another great one! I am especially grateful for how patient she is when explaining difficult areas of Japanese grammar. Today, we started the chapter on the causative-passive form in Genki II. She took the time to break everything down clearly and made sure I understood before moving on. I also really appreciate that she consistently speaks to me in Japanese, but always in a way that matches my level and allows me to follow the conversation. This makes each lesson feel both challenging and encouraging. I always finish our lessons feeling happy, motivated, and excited to continue learning. Nana is very clear and helpful at explaining. She meets me where I’m at in my learning and tries to speak in Japanese most of the time at my level. Her presentation/teaching slides are very clear and helpful as well. She is flexible and adjusts to what works well for me.

Nana-sensei and I are continuing to work through the causative-passive form in Genki II. It is one of the more difficult grammar areas for me, but her structured explanations and careful guidance make it easier to keep working through it without becoming discouraged. She pays close attention to whether I have genuinely understood the material rather than simply moving on after covering it once.
