Hi, I’m Loki, a top 1% teacher on iTalki.
I’m from the UK, but now I’m based in Berlin. During the last few years I’ve helped hundreds of students like you to 'upgrade' their English. As well as being a qualified tutor, I was the editor of a music magazine for around 10 years, so I’m really into language, music and anything creative. As you can see, I'm a TEFL-certified English teacher with a Cambridge English certificate in IELTS preparation and a background in music journalism. My experience is primarily in one-on-one teaching, so my students and I achieve great results here on iTalki. Exactly what we’ll do together depends on your level and goals, but I can help you with fluency, grammar, pronunciation, IELTS, business English, written documents (CVs, letters, etc) and much more. Speaking practice – It might sound basic, but you must speak and listen if you want to take your skills to the next level.
Grammar – I’ve created my own guides on tricky topics like past tense, conditionals, phrasal verbs, articles and tons more.
Pronunciation – We’ll look at minimal pairs, r-controlled vowels, -ed endings and other areas where many people have problems.
IELTS Preparation – As you can see on my profile, I have a Cambridge English certificate that allows me to prepare students for the IELTS exam.
Business English – I can teach you essential work vocabulary, key phrases for meetings, email writing and more, or we even do interview preparation.

Ich möchte mich hier bei Loki ausdrücklich für seine vorbildliche Hilfe und sein außerordentliches Engagement bedanken. Über MyHeritage hatte ich meine Halbgeschwister gefunden, welche auf der ganzen Welt verteilt sind. Alle sprechen englisch und ich hatte die Challenge, dass ab Mitte August 2024 bis zum 05. Februar 2025 mein englisch von Grundkenntnisse auf ein Status angehoben wird, welches mir erlaubt, dass ich mich mit meinen Geschwistern unterhalten kann. Ich habe in Loki einen geduldigen, engagierten aber auch strengen Lehrer gefunden, welche mich auf diesem Weg begleitete. Insbesondere auch durch einen engmaschigen Unterricht, seine Unterrichtszusammenfassungen lernte ich zügig das neue Vokabular. Der Besuch und das erste Treffen über drei Wochen war ein voller Erfolg – Herzlichen Dank Loki für die großartige Unterstützung und natürlich gibt es noch viel zu tun bis zum nächsten Treffen meiner Geschwister :-)
