Hi! My name is Maria Cecília and I'm a 24-year-old medical student who loves language learning and talking to people all over the world. I live in the Northeast of Brazil (and have been living here for the past 15 years) and I love sharing my culture while learning about different cultures. I think it's really beautiful how we can connect with so many people around the globe and share different experiences.

I've been a community tutor for 6 years now. Even though I haven't had any proper teaching experience before italki, after these 6 years I think I can say I've gained some and I for sure always try to improve. Also, I study medicine at a school that adopts an active method of learning (where the students, not the teachers, are the "protagonists" of their own learning), which I think is really important in language learning and it's something that I'm really familiar with.บทเรียนและรูปแบบการสอนของฉัน
Since I'm a community tutor, my lessons consists of coversation practice. I'll focus on making you comfortable with speaking Portuguese and correcting you when needed. Depending on the your needs, goals and preferences, we can also work with songs, news articles, images and videos. We can practice reading, pronunciation, vocabulary... When it comes to grammar, I can't assure you I'll know the answer to all of your doubts, but I'll always do my best and study so I can explain them to you, if not in the same lesson, in the next one. Cecilia makes Portuguese so fun to learn! I told her I'd like to practice more of a casual Portuguese, and she speaks in a way that's conversational/informal and I can pick up the everyday vocabulary she uses.

Cecília pays attention to each students needs. I advised her of a specific topic I’d like to learn more words and vocabulary from and she took the time and care to send me some resources that would assist. In addition, we then practiced during the lesson. Cecília will adapt to each students learning style!
