Hello everyone! My name is Zubin Mistry and I’ve been teaching English and Farsi since 2000. I was born and raised bilingual in Iran and I spoke English and Farsi growing up. I moved to the U.S in the '90s to pursue my education.
I have a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in English Language and literature. Additionally, I hold a Cambridge Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults or CELTA for short. (To NEW students: Please message me on Skype (live:zubinmistry13) before or after you book a lesson)

I have always tried to tailor my teaching methodology according to the specific needs of the learner, always keeping in mind her unique dominant learning style, language level, age and background. Zubin jaan is such an outstanding teacher! My lesson today was so helpful in ironing out my difficulties with certain letters (غ). His insights into the roots of new vocabulary are fascinating and those insights make remembering new words much easier. I cannot say enough great things about how my فارسی is improving because of his superior teaching skills.

Sehr professionell gestalteter Unterricht.
Der Lehrer geht ganz genau auf die Fähigkeiten seiner Schülerin ein, Vorkenntnisse werden nicht vorausgesetzt, was ich als gut empfinde.
Man bekommt die Chance eine gute Umgangssprache für die täglichen normalen sozialen Kontakte zu erlernen.

Zubin is an incredible instructor. he has both an expert, scholarly grasp of Farsi and English, and his passion for both languages shines through in his lessons.
my experience:
i grew up in an english-speaking household, with one iranian parent. i only seriously began learning farsi in my twenties. I started self-study around 2018. I took 1 intermediate class at University of Illinois. When I moved to France, i took one year of lessons on italki with one teacher, before switching to Zubin at the start of 2024. i've mostly been working on reading "Big Friendly Giant" by Roald Dahl with him.
the book is a big challenge for me abd Zubin's expertise has been invaluable at helping me understand the nuances of the translated version (i was able to get my hands on the translation by Mahbobeh Najafjani, you which is a high quality translation featuring nuanced farsi colloquialisms).
Therefore, as an intermediate learner, I can safely recommend Zubin as a teacher!!
