This was my first time using italki, and Sue was wonderful! She was patient, provided feedback verbally/in the chat, and helped me identify smaller goals to reach the bigger goal. Sue and I practiced 3 more single vowel sounds then 9 vowel diphthongs. She corrects me when I pronounce things incorrectly in a polite and easy way. We constantly review each one, and she has a great way to practice each sound randomly. I find the lessons to be very effective and easy to follow with appropriate difficulty. Thanks again!

My first lesson with Sue was great. Very patient and I enjoyed her technique of teaching me the alphabet. Highly recommend if you want someone patient and who uses of variety of teaching tools.

Sue is a very helpful and well prepared teacher. She has identified how I learn best and caters lessons and methods of teaching to my needs. She corrects my pronunciation and grammar and introduces useful vocabulary. Moreover, she works hard to ensure I maintain motivation and practice by designing ways to help me learn and remember new vocabulary. Sue is very friendly and her lessons are relaxed by encouraging natural conversations. I would highly recommend her as a teacher.

Today was my first lesson with teacher Sue. She was very comforting and knowledgeable. We practiced the vowel sounds in Vietnamese, which I find rather challenging but she has a great way to introduce the sounds, then practice each word following it. Sue can also provide words in English that have that unique tone which helps differentiate the sounds easier. In addition so truly focuses on mouth and touch placement and how to position your mouth, which as a native English speaker you will need some mouth training to effectively pronounce Vietnamese, but she doesn't focus too long on the mistakes. has you listen and repeat the sound 4 or 5 times which I like and think it is very effective. I highly recommend her to other students who wish to learn Vietnamese. Thank you Sue.
