Announcement: I will be increasing lesson prices for new students on November 1st, 2024. All students who have taken lessons prior to November 1st, 2024 will be able to continue at their original price. Hi, I'm Steve. I am originally from New York, although I am currently living and working in Atlanta, Georgia. I have long been a foreign language enthusiast, and think studying foreign languages is a great way to interact with different cultures, and to expand your worldview. I think at some point in the process it's important to grind out vocab, and study grammar, although I believe the most important piece of the puzzle is enjoying the language and integrating it in your daily life.

I teach English at an elementary school as my day job, and in the evenings I run English classes for adults. I have taught students of all different levels and backgrounds, both professionally and informally (as a tutor, etc.) and am able to work with anyone regardless of their level.

I am flexible and and willing to do lessons in whatever style will best help you achieve your individual goals. If you're unsure of what you want to do, I typically like to do lessons that consist of 15-20% of the time studying a new grammar point or going over new concepts, and the majority of the time practicing what you already know, having discussions or reading things together, and having free form conversation. I think this latter part, actually using the language, is where the majority of the internalization takes place.

今日もとてもためになるレッスンでした。最後に英文を読む練習をしたときには、自分ではまったく気づいていなかった発音の癖を指摘してもらって、とても勉強になりました。言われたことを直していけば発音がよりきれいになるんじゃないかと明るい未来が見えた気がしました。今日もありがとうございました😊
