Sahya Devi (Andy)

I have had multiple lessons with Andy so far. She has an excellent understanding of adult learning and tailors her lesson around my goals. For example, we spent two lessons translating common phrases from my job. Andy also is very intuitive, and her background in yoga and mindfulness allows her to guide students outside of their comfort zones. Not only are we working on learning a new language, but also learning a new mindset.

My sessions with Andy transcend language learning. My knowledge of and confidence with Spanish has grown significantly since I started studying with her, but I have gotten much more from our time together. With her guidance I now see language learning as like participating in life itself; mistakes are made, accomplishments are achieved, setbacks occur, gains are hard fought and won. And all contribute to the growth of the person and of the soul. I will say this of Andy: you come for the language learning and you will learn a lot. But more importantly, you will be rewarded with invaluable lessons on life.

Another great class with Sahya. I am so grateful for her patience, calm and depth of knowledge around language learning. As well as a deep understanding around how the rest of life affects our brains processing. Andy is the best. She individually focuses on your conversation level and talks with you about whatever you want. Andy’s approach to teaching is holistic and intuitive and it has really helped me improve my Spanish skills in a short period of time. I always leave our lessons feeling inspired and encouraged! In addition to the practical oral and grammatical skills, I also enjoy that she incorporates themes from other aspects of her life like topics of personal development and spirituality, which is something I really connect with. I can warmly recommend Andy for anyone who’s looking to take their learning to the next level!
