I am an American living in Italy, trying to make learning English an accessible goal for everyone. I struggled to learn my first foreign language because I was scared to make mistakes, and my classes never prepared me for the conversations I had in real life. Five years ago, when I started teaching I decided I would design the lessons I had always wanted. I love art and politics, television and literature so we started talking about that in my classes. Then my students started proposing topics and my lessons expanded to cover advances in biotechnology, philosophy, rivalries in sports, and more. I am a CELTA certified teacher with more than 7 years of experience. I love teaching because I love helping people and I have been lucky to teach people from all over the world and of all different ages. Two years ago, I began my own English school to start teaching the type of lessons I think are the most effective. I believe if the student is not interested in what is being discussed they will not make the improvements they want. By listening and adapting to the needs of my students, I can help them actually enjoy the process of learning, and they can build confidence in English. It's all about you! Learning should be fun. It is my job to design lessons plans that will help you reach your goals in the quickest and must enjoyable way possible. I will bring newspaper articles, videos, songs, pictures and whatever else will start an interesting conversation. During the lesson I will provide you with useful vocabulary and corrections. Then, after class, I will send you a list of helpful tips and explanations personalized for you.
